Three Days and Counting
Here is a little something to bright your day. A comment that I posted on the blog of our friends over at Skuttlebutt Ink who are coming to join us as a dealer at our convention. It was simply too good not to share:
I cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to the complete randomness that is been contracted by our staff members. Symptoms include: Bad dancing, laughing at nothing in particular, horribly dry jokes and quotes from Yugioh Abridged Series. Other symptoms of randomness my still exist. Please do not contact your doctor if you experience these symptoms; you have simply been around anime nerds for too long or you are one yourself already.
If you get a good laugh from that then I have accomplished one of my goals for today. The one of many I still have to finish.
I finally started printing on the programs and got all of the purple ones finished. If your wondering what the hell I’m talking about, our programs are coming in two different colors this year: Purple and Green. Those somehow inadvertently became our convention colors. It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I got a bunch of Mardi Gras stuff on sale in March. Okay…maybe it does…but just a little!! The honest truth is that I bought the stuff because it was on sale and noticed how much the colors resembled our mascots, Falco and Alice so it just kind of stuck and I decide to use that as our theme. So don’t be surprised if you walk in and see a lot of purple, green and tan as an accent. 🙂
So anyways, back on topic. Purple programs all printed out and I’ll be working on folding and stuffing them while the green ones print. I’m going to end up having about 160 all together (150 for attendees and 10 or so for dealers/staff). The first 50 people to attend the convention will also get a nice little baggy to carry all their stuff around in. If your still wondering what kind of “stuffing” will be going into the programs, you’ll find some nice little advertising cards from FUNimation promoting their new anime Eden of the East. Also a quick not for those who are looking forward to EotE, FUNi announced yesterday that the released date has been pushed back to October so the date on the cards showing the September Release date will not be correct. Don’t be too disappointed though, the date has only been pushed back a few weeks. ^_^
Other then that, nothing much has changed as part of my to-do list. I’m going to do fliers at the High Schools today and yesterday I finished my signs that will go out on Bluff Street in front of the Best Western Abbey Inn starting tomorrow morning. Make sure you drive past them and get a good look! They will also be useful for helping our guest/dealers find their way to the right place.
Oh! And also look for us in the event listing in The Spectrum this weekend! Anime SG should be in there under their event calendar.
